Travelsphere Makes Major Comtec Technology Investment

Leading escorted tour operator, Travelsphere, has revealed plans to roll-out Comtec’s Travelink tour operator sales and management system in a major strategic technology investment. The new booking platform will be made available to over 300 internal users and will also power the company’s travel websites.

The roll-out, which will include its Travelsphere, Page and Moy and Just You brands has been undertaken, according to the operator, to provide more flexible booking services to its customers and to enable it to more efficiently introduce upsell and crossell opportunities into the booking journey.

Steve Foster, Group CEO of Travelsphere commented, “We’ve entered this long-term partnership with Comtec as we believe an upgraded technology platform is fundamental to our ambitious growth plans. Specifically, Travelink will help us to deliver our targeted operational efficiencies and to offer increased product choice and flexibility to further improve the high levels of service we provide to Travelsphere customers. We’ll also be using Travelink to develop our online travel distribution activities.”

Travelink is a web-based system designed to enable tour operators to sell and manage all types of travel, including tours and tailor-made itineraries. It is currently deployed with over 75 tour operators. Comtec said the Travelsphere contract was secured following significant development it has undertaken to enhance the fixed tours module of its system.
